Selangor | THIRD NOTICE: The 2nd SDSA Malaysia Open DanceSport Championship 2020, initially scheduled to take place on 29th February that has been postponed due to the outbreak of Corona-virus (Covid-19) is now being announced for CANCELLATION due to the advise by our government to postpone all events involving mass gatherings until further notice given by the authority and also the unforeseen circumstances and concern over the uncertain number of Coronavirus (COVID-19) growing both in and around the country.
To take best measures on the safety and well-being of athletes, members, supporters and all involved and also in compliance with our government’s recommendations and measures, we have made the strenuous decision to call off our national ranking event, 2nd SDSA Malaysia Open DanceSport Championship 2020 as at this stage, more than 132,000 cases of COVID-19 have now been reported to WHO, from 123 countries and territories with deaths of 5,000 people.
To all that have purchased flight tickets for the 2nd SDSA Malaysia Open DanceSport Championship before 15.03.2020 (Sunday), our association will reimburse the change of flight cost and fare changes to all athletes and judges (only), excluding the supporters of athletes.
To all involved, we seek your understanding and we sincerely apologize for any inconveniences caused. We look forward to have you still participating in our championship in the future.
Last but not least, our association encourages each DanceSport athlete, official, family member and traveler to follow and implement guidance issues by the World Health Organization (WHO) and must take the personal responsibility to protect themselves personally and also to contain the spread of the virus.
